Carol Weymuller Open 2017

The 2017 Carol Weymuller Open took place in Brooklyn , New York City , in the United States from October 17-23 , 2017 . The women's squash tournament was part of the women's PSA World Tour 2017/18 and belonged to the PSA 50 category .

Last year's winner Nour El Sherbini took part again and started the tournament in top shape. After three wins she reached the final, in which she defeated Joelle King 11: 7, 11: 5 and 11: 3.

The field of participants in the women's competition consisted of 16 players, four of which were starting places for qualifiers. Per Wildcard received Emilia Soini a spot in the main draw.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 50,000.
