Cecilie Hollberg

Cecilie Hollberg (* 1967 in Soltau ) is a German historian and museum director.

Life

Cecilie Hollberg studied history, German, political science and Italian in Rome, Munich and with Hartmut Boockmann in Göttingen. She received her doctorate in 2000 from the University of Göttingen under Ernst Schubert . Professional stations were in Dresden, Magdeburg and in the custody of the University of Leipzig . At the Landesmuseum Hannover she was the project manager of the national exhibition 1714. Hanover's ruler on England's throne (1714 to 1837) for 2014. In 2010, Hollberg took over the management of the Städtisches Museum in Braunschweig , which was reopened in 2012 after a renovation.

In August 2015 she was appointed Museum Director of the Galleria dell'Accademia in Florence . She was terminated on August 22, 2019.

The background is the integration of the Galleria into the Uffizi , which means that the additional management position is no longer required.

It will be reported on January 29, 2020 that she will be returning to this position.
