Chad Johnson (formerly Chad Ochocinco , * 9. January 1978 in Miami , Florida ) is a former American American football poker players on the position of wide receiver . He played for the Cincinnati Bengals and the New England Patriots in the National Football League (NFL).

American football career

Johnson was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2001 in fifth place in the second round of the NFL Draft . He previously played college football for Oregon State University .

Chad Johnson is known for his provocative comments and dances after scoring a touchdown . In August 2008, he officially changed his name from Chad Johnson to Chad Javon Ochocinco (Spanish for the numbers 8 (Ocho) and 5 (Cinco)). But in October 2008 he was forced by the NFL to play in the "Johnson" jersey for the coming season because there were still large stocks with his old name. The NFL accepted his new surname for the 2009 season, but only the official version "Ochocinco" and not "Ocho Cinco", as the player wanted.

He joined the Miami Dolphins in June 2012 but was released in August after being jailed on charges of domestic violence against his wife.

Soccer

In 2011 Ochocinco hit the international media again when he announced that he would start a football career alongside his work in the NFL . The wide receiver was already active as a soccer player in his youth and celebrated various successes.
