Charles Morillon

Charles Morillon (born 1985 in Angers , Maine-et-Loire ) is a French actor .

Life

After graduating from high school, Charles Morillon initially completed regional acting training at the Conservatoire National de Région ( Nantes ) between 2003 and 2005 . In 2003 he played the title role in the children's and youth play Pinocchio at the Nouveau Théâtre d'Angers . He also took part in numerous amateur performances (including plays by Molière , Shakespeare , Vinaver , Ibsen ). At the same time, he began studying German language, literature and culture ( German studies ) at the University of Nantes , which he completed in 2007 at the University of Strasbourg with a master's thesis on the subject of Max Frisch's Theater or Questionable Identities . In the following years he worked bilingually ( French , German ). In 2006 he came to Düsseldorf as an exchange student . In 2007 he went to Magdeburg as a foreign language assistant .

In the 2007/08 season he worked at the Magdeburg Theater as a co-leading actor (role: The Existentialist) in the research piece Kinder zur Sonne (director: Lukas Langhoff ). In 2008 he made a guest appearance with this production at the 29th Theatertreffen der Jugend. He continued his acting training at the Conservatoire du 8ème arrondissement in Paris (2007–2008) and with courses at the drama school “Stage Permis de Jouer”.

From 2009 to 2013 he completed his acting studies at the Folkwang University of the Arts (Essen / Bochum), which he was able to finance with an excellence scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation . He took part in several university productions; for Liliom he received the 2012 Folkwang Prize. During his acting studies at the Folkwang University of the Arts, he had a guest engagement at the Schauspielhaus Bochum for the production Game of Life (director: Martina van Kasten ), which was awarded the ensemble prize at the 23rd national competition for the promotion of young actors.

In 2013 he was engaged with a play contract at the Baden-Baden Theater. In the 2013/14 season he was part of the ensemble of the Biel-Solothurn Theater . There he appeared as Claudio in the Shakespeare comedy Much Ado About Nothing and as the miller's son in the fairy tale The Puss in Boots . In 2016 he was a guest at the Jagsthausen Castle Festival as Venantius in Der Name der Rose and as Franz in Götz von Berlichingen . In September 2017 he appeared as Duke of Alba in Egmont as part of the “La Seine Musicale” festival in Paris . In the 2017/18 season he performed at the Théâtre National de Strasbourg in the production Nathan!? on.

Morillon worked for film and television. In Volker Schlöndorff's drama Diplomatie (2014) about the failure of Paris to be destroyed in 1944 , he played an officer on watch in the entrance hall at the side of André Dussollier and Johannes Klaußner . In the multi-part German television film Tannbach - Schicksal eines Dorfes (2015) he was seen in the first two parts; he played the French slave laborer Philippe Mauriac, who loves the villager Theresa ( Maria Dragus ), who is expecting a child from him. In Rostock Police Call 110: Im Schatten (first broadcast: October 2016) he had a supporting role as Pasquale Basilie; he embodied a member of an Italian mafia clan.

Morillon, who lives in Berlin , is a member of the Federal Association of Film and TV Actors .
