Charyl Yannis Chappuis ( Thai อดิ ศักดิ์ ไกร ษ ร , born January 12, 1992 ) is a Thai - Swiss football player .

Chappuis is the son of a Thai woman and a Swiss man and grew up in Kloten . He is fluent in German, English and French.

Career

Charyl Chappuis learned to play football in the youth teams of FC Kloten , the SC Young Fellows Juventus and the Grasshopper Club Zurich . He also signed his first contract with the Grasshoppers in 2009. Until 2010 he played for the U21 team. In 2011 he made the leap into the first team, which played in the country's highest league, the Super League (Switzerland) . However, it was not used here. Mid-2011 he was sent to Locarno to that in the Challenge League playing FC Locarno borrowed. For the second division he was on the field 26 times until mid-2012. From mid-2012 to the end of 2012 he was loaned to league rivals FC Lugano from Lugano . After six months and 16 games for the club, he signed a contract in Thailand in 2013 , where he joined the top club Buriram United from Buriram . With the club he was Thai champion in 2013 and winner of the Thai FA Cup , the Thai League Cup and the Kor Royal Cup . The return series in 2014 he was loaned to the league rivals Suphanburi FC from Suphanburi . After the loan ended, he was firmly signed by Suphanburi. In mid-2017 he signed a contract with Muangthong United . With Muangthong he was runner-up in 2017 and won the Thai League Cup and the Mekong Club Championship . For Muangthong he completed 67 games by 2019. In 2020 he moved to league rivals Port FC , a club based in Bangkok.

National team

Charyl Chappuis played for the Swiss junior national teams from 2006 to 2011. His greatest success was winning the U-17 World Cup in 2009. He played for Thailand for the first time in 2013. Up until 2014, he played 14 times in the Thai U-23 national team . He has been playing for the Thai national football team since 2014 . He made his debut on May 25, 2014 in a friendly against Kuwait at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok .
