Chemiré-sur-Sarthe is a former French community with 241 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire . It belonged to the Arrondissement of Angers and the canton of Tiercé (until 2015: Canton Durtal ). The inhabitants are called Chemiréens .
With effect from January 1, 2016, the municipalities of Morannes and Chemiré-sur-Sarthe were merged into a Commune nouvelle with the name Morannes-sur-Sarthe , in which only Chemiré-sur-Sarthe received the status of a Commune déléguée .
On January 1, 2017, Morannes-sur-Sarthe was merged with the municipality of Daumeray to form today's municipality of Morannes sur Sarthe-Daumeray . The administrative seat is in Morannes.
