Cheng Xiaoni competed in her first international biathlon race at the start of the 1999/2000 season of the Biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen . There she was 76th of the individual in his first race. The highlight of the season was the 2000 Biathlon Junior World Championships in Hochfilzen. There the Chinese was 61st in the individual, 43rd in the sprint and 23rd in the pursuit.
