Cherré is a commune Déléguée in the French municipality Cherré-Au with 1,757 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Arrondissement Mamers in the department of Sarthe in the region Pays de la Loire . The inhabitants are called Cherréens .

The municipality of Cherré merged with Cherreau on January 1, 2019 to form the Commune nouvelle Cherré-Au. Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée. The municipality of Cherré belonged to the canton of La Ferté-Bernard and to the community association Communauté de communes du Pays de l'Huisne Sarthoise .

geography

Cherré is located about 30 kilometers east-northeast of Le Mans on the Huisne , which partially forms the northwestern municipal boundary. The municipality of Cherré was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of La Ferté-Bernard in the north and northwest, Cherreau in the northeast, Cormes in the east, Saint-Maixent in the south, Villaines-la-Gonais in the southwest and Saint-Martin-des-Monts in the west.

The A11 autoroute runs through the south of the municipality .
