Cherreau is a commune Déléguée in the French municipality Cherré-Au with 941 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Arrondissement Mamers in the department of Sarthe in the region Pays de la Loire . The inhabitants are called Cherreausiens .
The Cherreau municipality merged with Cherré on January 1, 2019 to form the Commune nouvelle Cherré-Au. Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée. The municipality of Cherreau belonged to the canton of La Ferté-Bernard and to the community association Communauté de communes du Pays de l'Huisne Sarthoise .
geography
Cherreau is about 35 kilometers northeast of Le Mans . The municipality of Cherreau was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Avezé in the north, Ceton in the east and northeast, Cormes in the south and east, Cherré in the south and southwest, La Ferté-Bernard in the west and southwest and Souvigné-sur-Même in the west and southwest.
