Chimoré is a small town in the department of Cochabamba in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Chimoré is the central place of the Municipio Chimoré in the province of Carrasco . The city is located at an altitude of 243 m on the left bank of the Río Chimoré , which flows northeast to the Río Ichilo .

Chimoré is located in the Bolivian lowlands on the northeastern edge of the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Oriental .
The mean average temperature of the region is 27 ° C (see climate diagram Villa Tunari) and fluctuates only slightly between 23 ° C in June and July and almost 29 ° C from November to February. The climate is humid all year round , the annual precipitation is about 2,300 mm. The maximum precipitation is in the summer months of December and January with over 300 mm, less humid are the winter months from June to September with 60 to 100 mm of precipitation.

To the southwest of Chimoré, at a distance of 193 kilometers by road, is Cochabamba , the capital of the department.
The 1,657-kilometer national road Ruta 4 leads through Chimoré, which begins in the far west at the Chilean border at Tambo Quemado and leads across the Altiplano and Cochabamba to Villa Tunari at the foot of the Cordillera. From Villa Tunari it is 22 kilometers to the neighboring town of Shinahota and another ten kilometers to Chimoré . The Ruta 4 then continues to the lowland metropolis of Santa Cruz and finally ends in the southeastern part of the country on the border with Brazil near the city of Puerto Quijarro .
From the airport Chimoré , directly to the east is the city, scheduled flights are carried out to and from Cochabamba.

Due to the historically grown population distribution, the region has a high proportion of Quechua population, in the municipality of Chimoré 70.4 percent of the population speak Quechua .
