history

The first written mention of the village of Chlum, which belonged to the royal castle Pürglitz , took place in 1334. Later the village was attached to the fiefdom of Pavlíkov. In 1585 Pavlíkov was detached from the loan relationship and became an allodial property. In 1660 the Knights of Renschberg ( Renšpergár z Renšperku ) inherited the estate on Skřivaň . Later it was attached to the Kruschowitz rule . In 1685 Leopold I sold the crown lords of Kruschowitz and Pürglitz to Ernst Joseph Count von Waldstein . In 1731 Johann Joseph Graf von Waldstein bequeathed both dominions to his daughter and universal heiress Maria Anna Fürstin zu Fürstenberg , who in 1756 united them with the Nischburg estate to form a family entailment of 400,000 guilders. Half of the inheritance went to her sons Joseph Wenzel zu Fürstenberg-Stühlingen and Karl Egon I zu Fürstenberg , the other half to her daughters Henriette Fürstin von Thurn und Taxis and Maria Theresia zu Fürstenberg. She appointed her second-born son Karl Egon I as Fideikommisserbeer, who also acquired the shares of his siblings through compensation. After the death of Karl Egon I, his eldest son Philipp Fürst zu Fürstenberg († 1790) inherited the property in 1787, followed by his children Karl Gabriel zu Fürstenberg († 1799) and Leopoldine Princess of Hesse-Rothenburg-Rheinfels. In 1803, the female heirs renounced a family settlement in favor of the minor Karl Egon II zu Fürstenberg and the princely and landgrave houses of Fürstenberg; Joachim Egon Landgraf von Fürstenberg was appointed as administrator until he came of age in 1817.

In 1843 Chlum consisted of 30 houses with 235 residents. The forester's house Hanna ( Na Hané ) with a forester's house and a tar stove was located in the Pürglitzer Forest on Rakonitz-Pürglitzer Strasse . Coal mines were operated northwest of the village. The parish was Groß-Augezd . Until the mid-19th century remained Chlum the rule Kruschowitz including the fiefs Wschetat and Panaschow-Augezd servants.

After the abolition of patrimonial , Chlum formed from 1850 a district of the municipality Pavlíkov in the district of Rakonitz and the judicial district of Rakonitz. After the death of Karl Egon II zu Fürstenberg in 1854, his second-born son Max Egon I inherited the Fideikommiss Pürglitz. The Rakonitz – Protivín Railway began operating the Beroun – Rakovník railway in the valley of the Rakonitz brook in 1876 . In 1880, Chlum broke away from Pavlíkov and formed its own community. In 1929 the Fürstenberg family sold the property to the Czechoslovak state. In 1959 the road from Horní Chlum to Ryšín was built. In 1960 Ryšín was incorporated. Chlum has been a part of Pavlíkov since January 1st, 1980. In 1991 the village had 114 inhabitants; at the 2001 census, 134 people lived in the 57 houses in Chlum.

Today Chlum is a resort. There is a cultural center in the village.

Local division

The district of Chlum is divided into the settlements Horní Chlum ( Chlum , 1939–45 Klum ) and Dolní Chlum ( Unter Chlum , 1939–45 Unterklum ). The latter is popularly called Poschlým . The district forms the cadastral district Chlum u Rakovníka .
