Chris Collins (born June 8, 1984 in Fairport , New York ) is an American ice hockey player . His brother Greg is also a professional ice hockey player.

Career

Chris Collins, who was never drafted , began his career as a hockey player in the 2001/02 season in the United States Hockey League with the Des Moines Buccaneers . For the next four years, Collins played for the Boston College ice hockey team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association . On July 12, 2006, the American received a two-year contract with the Boston Bruins , for which he was never used in the NHL. In his first season in professional ice hockey, the attacker was used in the 2006/07 season for Boston's farm team , the Long Beach Ice Dogs from the ECHL . Towards the end of the season he came on another 17 missions in the regular season for the other Boston farm team, the Providence Bruins from the American Hockey League . He was also used in a playoff game.

On July 10, 2008 Collins moved to Lukko Rauma from the Finnish SM-liiga , for which he scored five scorer points, including three goals, in 19 games. From November 11, 2008, the winger was under contract with the Augsburger Panthers from the DEL , which he left after the 2009/10 season to visit an NHL camp in September 2010. Collins took part in the training camp of the Pittsburgh Penguins , but could not recommend himself for inclusion in the NHL squad and was sent to the farm team to the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins . In 2011 he moved back to Germany to the Nürnberg Ice Tigers , but returned after the season to the ECHL, where he played for the Las Vegas Wranglers before he did a professional try-out with the Springfield Falcons in December 2012 , which however did not resulted in an obligation.
