college

As a senior at Salmen High School in Slidell, Louisiana, Chris Duhon was named Louisiana State's Mr. Basketball. He also became a McDonalds All American, won the Three Point Shootout, and was awarded the Morgan Wooten and Naismith Sportsmanship Awards. Duhon then moved to Duke University in Durham , which has already produced numerous NBA stars.

In his freshman season (2000) Duhon had the task of being the sixth man to relieve the starting point guard Jay Williams. However, Carlos Boozer soon injured himself and Jay Williams moved to the position of shooting guard . Chris Duhon became the team's starting point guard. With this constellation Duke won the title in 2001.

In his sophomore season, Duhon remained point guard and Jason Williams continued as shooting guard. Chris Duhon mainly improved his defense and overview on the field during this season. Duhon achieved 2.3 steals and 5.9 assists per game.

Duhon has been the main player in the Duke Blue Devils since his junior season . So he led the team in the 2002-2003 season under the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA and contributed 9.2 points, 6.4 assists and 2.2 steals per game to the success. This makes him one of the ten best passers in the history of the NCAA Division I.

In his senior season, Chris Duhon achieved an average of 10.0 points, 6.0 assists, 2.2 steals and 4.1 rebounds per game. The team reached the Final Four again .

Duhon ended his career in Duke as the player with the most steals (300), most minutes played (4813) and the second most assists (819). He also had one of the best assist / turnover ratios in college history. In four years with Duhon, the college had a record of 123 wins and 21 losses. Only Shane Battier could get more wins with Duke (131). Duhon helped the Blue Devils win 3 ACC titles. He was a finalist for the Wooden Award 2004, the Naismith Award 2004 and the Adolph Rupp Trophy . He is the only player in the Atlantic Coast Conference to have 1200 points, 800 assists, 475 rebounds, 300 steals and 125 threesomes.

Chicago Bulls

In June 2004, the Chicago Bulls selected Chris Duhon in 38th place in the NBA Draft . In his rookie season, Duhon played all 82 games, averaging 5.9 points and 4.9 assists per game. Duhon played a pivotal role in the first playoff series to be won since Michael Jordan . The team beat defending champions Miami Heat 4-0. Since Kirk Hinrich often got into foul problems in the series, Duhon got many minutes and played an important role in the four wins.
