Chris Egli (born March 19, 1996 in Sursee ) is a Swiss ice hockey player . He is in the squad of HC Davos in the National League and was in the October 2019 HC Ambri-Piotta borrowed.

career

Egli is the offspring of an ice hockey family: his father played in the 1st division in Wil , his uncles Andy and Peter were in the HC Davos squad in the early 1990s . Chris went through the junior levels at HCD and also completed a commercial apprenticeship in spring 2016. Egli made his debut for the Bündner in the National League A (NLA) on January 30, 2015 in Biel.

In October 2019, Egli was loaned to HC Ambrì-Piotta for two months .

National team

Egli played in the age groups U17, U18, U19 and U20 for the Swiss national teams. At the U20 World Cup in 2016, Egli made headlines when he checked the young Swedish star William Nylander . Nylander was injured because this incident was "treated like a state affair" in Sweden, wrote suedostschweiz.ch at the time.
