Tommaso Goi (born January 8, 1990 in Varese ) is an Italian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HC Ambrì-Piotta in the Swiss National League A since 2018 .
Career
Goi, who comes from Varese in northern Italy , began his career in the youth team of HC Lugano , for whom he made his debut in the National League A in 2009/10 . From 2006 to 2010 he also played for cooperation partner HC Ceresio in what was then the third-class first division . In 2010 he moved to HC Sierre in the National League B , but was also used in the first division with HC Chiasso in the 2011/12 season . In 2012 he moved to his native country and played two years in Serie A1 for Hockey Milano Rossoblu . After starting the 2014/15 season at GDT Bellinzona in the Swiss 1st division, he returned to Italy in December 2014, where he finished the season with HC Gherdëina from Serie A1. Since 2015 he has been playing in Switzerland again and in 2016 won the 1st league Eastern Switzerland with HCC Biasca and thus achieved promotion to National League B, in which he played for the following two years with the now HCB Ticino Rockets . Since 2016 he has also been used by the cooperation partner HC Ambrì-Piotta from the National League A, for which he has played exclusively since 2018.
International
Goi, who was not used internationally in the junior division, made his debut for the Italian national team in the 2014/15 season . He took part in a major tournament for the first time at the World Cup of the Top Division in 2017 , but had to accept relegation there. In the following year he succeeded in the tournament of Division I with the Azzurri, the immediate rise.
