Jannik Fischer (born June 29, 1990 in Baar ZG ) is a Swiss ice hockey player who has been under contract with HC Ambrì-Piotta in the National League since 2018 . His older brother Simon Fischer is also a professional ice hockey player.

Career

Fischer was trained as a junior in the youth department of EV Zug . During the 2008/09 season he made his debut in the National League A (NLA) for EVZ . Thanks to loan agreements, he was used over the years for EHC Chur and SC Langenthal in the National League B (NLB). In 2010 he signed a contract with the NLA club Genève-Servette HC , but was loaned out to Lausanne HC to gain more match practice in the NLB. Fischer stayed in Lausanne and helped the club to rise to the NLA in 2013.

In December 2017 he decided to move and signed a three-year contract with HC Ambrì-Piotta , which was valid from the 2018/19 season.

He is characterized by a physical and team-friendly style of play.

International

In November 2014, Fischer played his first international A matches as part of the Germany Cup . Before that, he was an international junior (U17, U18 and U20) and took part in the U18 World Cup in the top division in 2008 . In 2009 he won the U20 World Cup in Division I in Herisau and rose to the top division of this age group with the Swiss, where he played in 2010 .
