Tobias Bernhard Fohrler (born September 6, 1997 in Troisdorf ) is a German - Swiss ice hockey player . The defender has been under contract with HC Ambrì-Piotta in the National League since 2019 .

Career

Fohrler, son of a Swiss mother from Sissach and a German father, made his first attempts to stand on ice as a child on the Trerichsweiher near his native Troisdorf . During a visit to his mother's home in Switzerland, he came into contact with ice hockey and was tied up. As a teenager he played in the youth department of the Cologne EC and the Mannheim ERC . In 2015 Fohrler joined the youth team at EV Zug in Switzerland. In the game year 2016/17 he made it into the first team train in the National League A . At the same time, he was used at the EVZ Academy in the Swiss League . In 2019 he moved to HC Ambrì-Piotta within the National League .

International

Fohrler played for the German junior national team from the age group U18. In December 2016 he won the silver medal with the German U20 national team at the U20 World Cup in Division I. In January 2019, he made his debut for the German men's national team in two international matches against Switzerland.
