Julian Payr (born July 23, 2000 in Feldkirch ) is an Austrian ice hockey player who has been part of the HC Ambrì-Piotta squad in the Swiss National League since 2019 .

career

Payr moved from VEU Feldkirch to SC Rheintal in Switzerland in 2011 and to the HC Davos youth team in 2014 and went to the Davos sports school . In January 2018 he made his debut in the National League at HCD under coach Arno Del Curto . At the end of December 2018, he made headlines when he scored the winning goal for Davos in the Spengler Cup game against the Nürnberg Ice Tigers .

In July 2019, Payr switched to HC Ambrì-Piotta in exchange for Lorenz Kienzle .

National team

In November 2018, Payr was appointed to the Austrian men's national team for the first time , having previously played in the U18 and U20 selection of the ÖEHV .
