Christa Vetter

Christa Vetter (born July 10, 1932 in Wernburg ; † November 6, 2018 in Berlin ) was a German television and radio play dramaturge and editor .

Life

After attending school in Gössitz and graduating from high school in Chemnitz , she studied at the German Theater Institute in Weimar- Belvedere and became a dramaturge at the Maxim-Gorki-Theater in Berlin. In 1956 she began working as a radio play dramaturge at the State Committee for Broadcasting in the GDR . From 1962 to 1970 she worked as a dramaturge at the German television radio and then from 1971 back in the main radio drama department, where she succeeded Peter Gugisch as head of the radio drama department from 1977 to 1990.

As development dramaturge, she was responsible for the early radio play works by Inge Müller and Heiner Müller as well as Günther Rücker . Outstanding piece developments and radio productions emerged from their direct collaboration with authors such as Franz Fühmann , Peter Gosse , Günter Kunert , Erich Loest , Helmut Richter , Uwe Saeger , Rolf Schneider , Gisela Steineckert , Albert Wendt and others. a.

From 1980 to 1990 she worked as editor of the radio play volumes published annually in the "dialog" series by Henschelverlag Berlin.

Until his death, she was married to the former chief dramaturge of DEFA (1961–1966) and the German Theater (1967–1986) Klaus Wischnewski .

Christa Vetter died on November 6, 2018 at the age of 86 and is buried in the French Cemetery in Berlin.
