Christian Bauer (theologian, 1973)

Christian Bauer (born July 13, 1973 in Würzburg ) is a German Roman Catholic pastoral theologian .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1993 in Würzburg, he completed civilian service (1993–1994) in a Caritas welfare station. He completed his theology studies (1995–2001) in Würzburg, Pune and Tübingen in 2001 with a diploma from the Catholic-Theological Faculty of the University of Würzburg (overall grade: very good) ( diploma thesis with Rolf Zerfaß : "Worker priest and city church. An attempt at a semiotic analysis more practical Places of Theology "). After receiving basic funding from the Cusanuswerk Episcopal Study Foundation from 1998 to 2001 , he received graduate funding from the Cusanuswerk Episcopal Study Foundation from 2001 to 2004.

From 2001 to 2003 he was a research assistant at the Institute M.-Dominique Chenu in Berlin and studied semiotics at the TU Berlin . In 2002 she trained as a mediator at the Institut für StreitKultur in Berlin. From 2002 to 2005 he conducted research in the Chenu archive in Paris . From 2006 to 2007 he did a year of pastoral practice on behalf of the Archdiocese of Bamberg in the Frauenkirche (Nuremberg) . From 2008 to 2012 he was a research assistant at the Chair for Practical Theology at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Tübingen . From 2009 to 2010 he did a higher education didactic training at the Catholic-Theological Faculty Day in cooperation with the German Bishops' Conference .

After receiving his doctorate in 2010 from the Catholic-Theological Faculty of the University of Tübingen (overall grade: summa cum laude) ( Dissertation : "Change of theology. M.-Dominique Chenu in the context of his program Une école de théologie: Le Saulchoir"; supervisor: Ottmar Fuchs ; Second reviewer: Bernd Jochen Hilberath ) from 2010 to 2011 he held a teaching position as substitute professor in the subject of pastoral theology at the Catholic-Theological Faculty of the University of Bonn . He received the primo loco placement in 2011 in the appointment process to fill the professorship for intercultural pastoral theology and homiletics at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Innsbruck .

In 2012 he was appointed professor for intercultural pastoral theology and homiletics at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Innsbruck and head of the pastoral year university course in the dioceses of Innsbruck , Feldkirch and Bozen - Brixen . After his habilitation at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Graz with the habilitation thesis : "Constellative Pastoral Theology. Explorations between discourse archives and fields of practice" (Speaker: Rainer Bucher ; Expert opinion: Maria Widl , Reinhard Feiter , Wolfgang Weirer ) he became head of the institute in 2017 appointed for Practical Theology.
