Christian Duguay (* 1957 in Montréal , Québec ) is a Canadian director .

He graduated from Concordia University . He is married to the actress Liliana Komorowska . In 1996 he received a Gemini Award for the miniseries Torn From Mother ( Million Dollar Babies ), in which he filmed the story of the Dionne quintuplets . In 1999 and 2003 he was nominated for an Emmy , namely for Jeanne d'Arc - The Woman of the Millennium and Hitler - Rise of Evil .

In the science fiction film Screamers - Tödliche Schreie (1995) he let the characters of Peter Weller and Roy Dupuis experience horror on a distant planet. In the spy thriller The Assignment (1997) with Aidan Quinn and Donald Sutherland , he brought the hunt for the terrorist Carlos to life. In the television miniseries Human Trafficking (2005) with Mira Sorvino , Donald Sutherland and Rémy Girard , he portrayed the trafficking of young girls and their exploitation.

With Jappeloup - Eine Legende he achieved an audience success in France in 2013. In 2015 he shot the sequel to Nicolas Vanier's successful children's film Belle & Sebastian from 2013.
