Christian Erhard von Nettelbladt

Christian Erhard Freiherr von Nettelbladt (born January 14, 1792 in Rostock ; † March 20, 1863 ibid) was a German administrative lawyer and librarian.

Life

Christian Erhard Freiherr von Nettelbladt was a son of the Rostock judicial office director Karl Friedrich Wilhelm von Nettelbladt from his second marriage to Christiane Eberhardine, geb. Prehn (1756-1796). Christian Karl Friedrich Wilhelm von Nettelbladt was his half-brother.

He attended the Moravian school in Großhennersdorf . At the age of almost 15 he was enrolled at the University of Rostock in December 1806 and studied law here and at the University of Tübingen . At the University of Göttingen he became a member of the Corps Vandalia Göttingen in 1812 .

After his exam he entered the service of the Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and became an auditor at the Toitenwinkel office .

In 1834 he was transferred to the Rostock University Library . As the second librarian , he was responsible for reorganizing the library. In 1837 he took over the management of the Münzkabinett and expanded the collection considerably.

On January 20, 1842 him the Faculty appointed University of Rostock to her honorary doctorate .

Like his father and half-brother, Christian Erhard von Nettelbladt was a Freemason . He entered the Lodge at the Temple of Truth in 1812 and obtained the master's degree in the St. Erich Lodge in Stockholm in 1814 . Like his half-brother, he was fond of the Swedish teaching system . From 1819 he was master of the chair ( guardian of the eastern gate ) of his home box for 41 years and from 1855 of the United Lodge . Until 1860 he was also the Grand Master of the Provincial Lodge of Mecklenburg, Master of the St. Andreas Lodge of Lucens in Rostock and Chapter Master . After differences in the lodge, he resigned all Masonic offices in 1860.

He was married to Sophie, b. Ritzerow (1797-1873). The couple had three sons and two daughters. The sons all embarked on an officer career and were all Colonel a. D .:
