Christian Friedrich Minameyer (born October 25, 1808 in Bayreuth , † July 30, 1878 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general and commander of the 3rd Artillery Brigade .

Life

origin

His parents were Johann Karl Konrad Minameyer (1777–1843) and his wife Karoline Friedrike, née von Pöppinghausen. His father was a witness captain in Magdeburg, four other brothers were also in the 3rd Artillery Brigade, including Wilhelm August Eduard Minameyer (* 1816), author of the Compendium of Horse Knowledge .

Career

Minameyer received his school education at the Domgymnasium Magdeburg . On October 25, 1823 he joined the 3rd Artillery Brigade of the Prussian Army as a gunner and attended the United Artillery and Engineering School in 1826/28 . By the end of March 1831 he was promoted to second lieutenant , was transferred to the 7th Artillery Brigade on June 24, 1831 , and from March 1, 1833 he was employed as a department adjutant. Under promotion to first lieutenant returned Minameyer March 17, 1842 in its regular brigade back and served from April 1844 as adjutant . Four years later he became a company commander , promoted to captain on October 10, 1844 , and appointed battery chief. Under position à la suite , Minameyer was transferred to the adjutant of the 1st Artillery Inspection in Stettin on October 16, 1851 and to the adjutantage on August 21, 1852. Left in his position, he joined the 2nd Artillery Regiment on June 18, 1853 ; his patent was backdated to March 15, 1848. He was promoted to major on June 2, 1855 and transferred to the Mainz fortress as commander of the combined fortress artillery department , and he was placed à la suite of the 2nd artillery regiment. Promoted to Lieutenant Colonel on May 31, 1859 , he joined the 3rd Artillery Brigade on October 1, 1860 as commander of the 2nd fortress department. On 18 October 1861 he was awarded the character as a Colonel and on March 17, 1863 the patent for his rank. He was then transferred on October 23, 1863 as Chief of the General Staff to the General Inspection of the Artillery , and from February 1, 1864, he was also a member of the examination commission for prime lieutenants of the artillery. On August 26, 1864, he became the commander of the 3rd Artillery Brigade and was assigned a la suite of the General Staff.

During the war against Austria , Minameyer led his brigade in the battles near Münchengrätz and Königgrätz . For his work he received the swords for the Order of the Red Eagle III. Class and was promoted to major general on September 20, 1866. He was on 16 October 1867 under award of the Red Eagle II. Class with oak leaves and swords on rings board for disposition made. He died in Berlin on July 30, 1878.
