Christian Knorr (politician)

Christian Karl Ludwig Knorr (also Christian Karl Ludwig Knorr von Rosenroth ) (born January 24, 1800 in Westerburg , † August 14, 1868 in Darmstadt ) was a Hessian civil servant and member of parliament.

Christian Knorr was the son of the Councilor Carl Christian Knorr (1771-1820) and his wife Eleonore nee Langsdorff (1778-1804). The higher appellate judge Ludwig Franz Gottlieb Knorr (1797–1866) was his brother. Knorr, who was a Protestant denomination, married on October 11, 1823 in Gießen Christiane born Buff (born August 14, 1798 in Gießen; † April 9, 1844 in Darmstadt), the daughter of the superintendent in Gießen Christoph Buff (1756-1826) and Katharina Elisabeth Eleonore née Bechtold (1767–1841). They had two sons:

Christian Knorr studied law and became an assessor at the Friedberg Regional Court in 1821 . In 1826 he became district administrator in the Gießen district . In 1827 he moved to Giessen as a church and school councilor and in 1832 as a secular councilor at the Darmstadt Consistory . In 1841 he became director of the high school board and retired in 1848.

From 1835 to 1841 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency of Oberhessen 10 / Butzbach .
