Christian Rudolf von Weiher

Christian Rudolf von Weyherr (born April 19, 1709 in Parlin , Saatzig district , † May 4, 1782 in Kyritz ) was a royal Prussian major general and chief of the cuirassier regiment No. 2 and knight of the order Pour le Mérite .

Life

His father was the Brandenburg lieutenant Georg Rudolph von Weyherr , heir to Parlin and Mulckentin .

Career

He joined Dragoon Regiment No. 5 in 1725 . There he became an ensign in 1731 and a lieutenant in 1737 . In 1756 he was promoted to staff captain, in 1758 he became squadron chief. In May 1759 he became a major and in 1769 a lieutenant colonel . In 1772 he was appointed colonel and commander of the regiment. In 1773 he received the Pour le Mérite. In 1778 he became major general and in March of that year he was appointed chief of the Cuirassier Regiment No. 2 .

He had taken part in all campaigns since 1741, including the battles of Hohenfriedberg , Breslau , Leuthen and Torgau . In the War of the Bavarian Succession , the regiment came to the corps of the Prince of Anhalt-Bernburg in Saxony.

family

Von Weiher had been married to Amalie Karoline Jakobine von Weyherr from the Benz house since 1750 , she was the daughter of Philipp Jakob von Weyherr . The marriage remained without children. After the death of her husband, the widow married the then Lieutenant Gottlob Karl Ludwig von Corvin-Wiersbitzki from the Cuirassier Regiment No. 2.
