Christoffer Sundgren (born July 31, 1989 in Sveg ) is a  Swedish  curler. He is currently the lead in Niklas Edin's team .

Career

Sundgren played for the first time internationally at the Junior World Championship in 2009 as the lead of the Swedish team around Skip Oskar Eriksson and came fourth there. At the Junior World Championship in 2011 he was a substitute player and won the gold medal.

At his first World Cup in 2014, he won the silver medal as lead in Oskar Eriksson's team; in the final the Swedes lost against Norway with Skip Thomas Ulsrud . The revenge followed in the same year at the European Championship , when the Swedes, again with Sundgren as lead and with Niklas Edin as Skip, beat the Norwegians in the final. At the 2015 World Cup , this final pairing took place again and this time Sundgren and the Swedish team retained the upper hand. It was followed by a gold medal at the 2015 European Championships ; in the final the Swedish team won against Switzerland with Peter de Cruz . The winning streak broke at the 2016 World Cup , in which Sundgren only came in sixth place. At the 2016 European Championships , however, the gold medal was won again, again through a win against the Norwegians and Thomas Ulsrud. At the 2017 World Cup , Sundgren was able to move into the final; the Swedes lost there but Canada with Skip Brad Gushue and won the silver medal. At the European Championships in the same year he achieved the fourth victory in a row with the Swedes after the Scottish team with Skip Kyle Smith could be defeated in the final . At the 2018 World Cup , there was a new edition of the final pairing from 2017. This time Sundgren and the Swedish team retained the upper hand with a 7-3 win against the Canadians around Brad Gushue and won the gold medal.

Sundgren and his teammates (Skip: Niklas Edin, Third: Oskar Eriksson, Second:  Rasmus Wranå , Alternate: Henrik Leek ) represented Sweden in the men's team competition at the  2018 Olympic Winter Games . After seven wins and two defeats, they finished the Round Robin first. In the semifinals they defeated Switzerland with Skip Peter de Cruz . In the final they were defeated by the US team led by John Shuster with 7:10 and won the silver medal.
