Christoph Adolf von Buhrmeister ( Russian : Адольф Христофорович Бурмейстер * September 11, 1784 in Piigast , Kõlleste community , Estonia ; † October 16, 1866 in Perm , Russia ) was a German-Baltic nobleman and Russian lieutenant general .

Career

Buhrmeister was first a graduate in the 1st Cadet Corps and was discharged as a lieutenant on May 18, 1802 . His military career he sat in the 4th hunters - Regiment continued. He then served during the coalition wars under Commander-in-Chief Alexander Ivanovich Ostermann-Tolstoy and took part in battles in Czarnowo. Here he distinguished himself as a lieutenant through outstanding bravery , for which he was particularly praised by Count Ostermann-Tolstoy. Buhrmeiter was awarded the Order of St. Anna (4th class: golden sword with the inscription "For bravery" ). From 1813 he served as a lieutenant colonel in the Pavlovsky Regiment ( en: Pavlovsky Regiment ), in 1814 he received from the hands of the King of Prussia Friedrich Wilhelm III. the order of Pour le Mérite . In 1817 he was promoted to colonel . From 1818 to 1826 he was in command of the 3rd Marine Regiment. Promoted to major general in 1826 , he was deputy commandant of the Kronstadt fortress . In 1829 he was awarded the Order of St. George IV. Class and the medal "25 years of faithful service" decorated . In 1831 he chaired a military commission, in 1840 he was promoted to lieutenant general and was in command of the Kronstadt fortress until 1855.

After his retirement from military service in 1854, he spent the rest of his life with his son in Perm, where Buhrmeister also died on October 16, 1866 and was buried in the Lutheran cemetery.

Origin and family

His father was the Russian lieutenant Johann Christoph von Buhrmeister (born August 12, 1762, † November 17, 1835), who was married to Christiane von Brömsen (1764-1817). Christoph Adolf married Karoline Elisabeth Juliane von Kruedener in 1815 (approx. 1788; † July 20, 1854). They had the following offspring:
