Chuck Findley

Charles "Chuck" B. Findley (born December 15, 1947 in Johnstown , Pennsylvania ) is an American jazz trumpeter .

Live and act

The son of a musician in Cleveland , Ohio, began playing the trumpet at the age of four . He has also performed with other brass instruments . At the age of eleven he received a scholarship at the Cleveland Institute of Music with Jimmy Dorsey , in whose band he made his first steps. His brother Bob also played this instrument. The first recordings were made in 1967 by Buddy Rich ( Big Swing Face ). During the years in Los Angeles, Bob and Chuck Findley played together in Herb Alpert's Tijuana Brass . In the course of his career he played with many well-known greats in show and jazz business, such as BB King , Frank Sinatra , Elton John , Tom Waits and Jimmy Haslip . In the field of jazz he was involved in 100 recording sessions between 1967 and 2017, including a. with Groove Holmes , James Brown , Billy May , Michel Legrand , Quincy Jones , The Singers Unlimited , Tom Scott , Lee Ritenour , Paulinho Da Costa , Earl Klugh , Stanley Turrentine , Johnny Hammond Smith , Pharoah Sanders , Grady Tate , Louie Bellson , Peter Herbolzheimer , Freddie Hubbard , Don Menza , Randy Crawford , Al Jarreau , Herbie Hancock , The Manhattan Transfer , Bobby Shew , Dave Grusin , Stan Kenton , Seth MacFarlane and Wayne Bargeron . In 2001 he recorded the album Live - Star Eyes under his own name with the Metropole Orkest under the direction of Rob Pronk .
