history

Chvalčova Lhota is located at the foot of the Hostýn , which has been inhabited by archaeological finds since the Upper Paleolithic . In the Celtic times, mighty fortifications with ramparts were built on the mountain. According to legend, during the invasion of the Golden Horde , the inhabitants of the area fled to the Hostýn in 1241.

The first written mention of the settlement between Bystřice and Chvalčov and Lhotca belonging to the Obřany castle was made in 1369 in the Brno country table , when Boček I of Podebrady sold the village to Heralt von Bučovice. Later the village was attached to the Bystřice manor . In 1555 Přemek von Víckov acquired the estate with all its accessories. First he inherited Wilhelm von Víckov, then his sister Bohunka. She transferred the property to her husband Václav Bítovský von Bítov in 1613. He fled Moravia after the battle of the White Mountain and was sentenced in 1622 to lose his neck, honor and property in absentia. The new owner of the manor was Zdeněk Vojtěch von Lobkowicz , whose son sold it to Johann Anton von Rottal in 1650 . This united them with Holešov to one great rule. During the Thirty Years War the area was first devastated by the Swedes; after their departure there was an uprising against re-Catholicization in neighboring Wallachia . As a result, the whole area began to decline. In the inventory of the Bystřice estate, a total of 35 properties are shown for Lhota Chwalcžow and Chwalcžow in 1674 , four of which were desolate. The residents of both places were obliged to do labor in the manorial hop garden in Prusinovice . In 1718 the place was called Lhotta Chwalcžowa and in 1751 as Lhota . In 1763 the line of the Counts of Rottal died out in the male line; when the lordship Holešov-Bystřice was divided among the heirs, Lhota was again subject to Bystřice. In 1789 ownership passed to Franz Anton von Rottal's son-in-law, Count della Rovere di Monte l´Abbate, and in 1804 his nephew, Johann Nepomuk Count von Wengerský, inherited the rule. The oldest local seal dates from 1820, it bears the inscription PECZET OBCZE LHOTI A CHWALCZOWSKI . From 1827 the Bystřice estate belonged to Count Laudon. Until the middle of the 19th century, the village was always subject to Bystřice.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Lhota Chwalczow 1850 a municipality in the district administration Holleschau . From 1872 the municipality was named Lhota Chvalcov , from 1881 as Chvaličova Lhota and from 1893 as Lhota Chvalčov . Between 1886 and 1888 the railway line from Bystřice pod Hostýnem to Valašské Meziříčí was built west of the village, but the place was not given a stop. The current place name Chvalčova Lhota has been in use since 1924. On August 19, 1951, the village was incorporated into Chvalčov. After the dissolution of the Okres Holešov, the community was assigned to the Okres Kroměříž in 1960. In 1976 Chvalčova Lhota was incorporated together with Chvalčov to Bystřice pod Hostýnem . Since February 28, 1990 Chvalčova Lhota belongs again to the Chvalčov municipality.
