Claus Föttinger

Claus Föttinger (* 1960 in Nuremberg ) is a contemporary German artist . He lives in Düsseldorf and Arnhem in the Netherlands . Föttinger mainly deals with installation and object art .

Professional background

Claus Föttinger was assistant to two advertising photographers from 1979 to 1981 and completed internships as a set designer and stage painter at the Nuremberg Municipal Theaters . From 1982 to 1989 he studied free painting at the State Art Academy in Düsseldorf under Professor Alfonso Hüppi . In 1987 he was his master class . From 1989 to 1990 he was an assistant to Harald Klingelhöller and Katharina Fritsch . In addition to his artistic activity, he worked from 1990 to 1992 in the Kunstraum Friesenwall 116 a e. V. in Cologne. In 1991 he was a founding member of the art association WP8 e. V. in Düsseldorf and took over its honorary management from 1992 to 1994. From 1995 to 1996 he was a guest curator of the Derik-Baegert Society in Ringenberg Castle on the Lower Rhine. Since 1996 Föttinger has only carried out its own projects.
