Clive bunker

Clive Bunker (born December 30, 1946 in Luton ) is a British drummer. In 1968 he founded the band Jethro Tull together with Ian Anderson , Mick Abrahams and Glenn Cornick .

biography

Before joining Jethro Tull, he played drums in various bands (The Warriors, McGregor's Engine). After several appearances in the London Marquee Club , Jethro Tull became known to a larger audience at the Sunbury Jazz and Blues Festival in 1968. The first album This Was hit the charts. Various US tours followed, and the next album Stand Up reached number 1 in the British charts. With Benefit , Jethro Tull was able to build on the success. In Germany they became known through an appearance in the Beatclub . After the recordings of the Jethro Tull album Aqualung , Clive Bunker left the band for private reasons.

After that he was a permanent member of various bands: Jude , Aviator , Blodwyn Pig , Manfred Mann's Earth Band , Poormouth , Uli Jon Roth , Solstice , Vikki Clayton , Jerry Donahue and Clive Bunker Band , Anna Ryder and Wild Turkey . As a session musician, he has worked with Gordon Giltrap , Jack Bruce , Glenn Hughes , Steve Hillage , Santino de Bartolo , Steve Howe and Linda Lewis, among others .

His solo album Awakening was released in 1998. He is currently a permanent member of The Gathering of…, a band in which several well-known musicians have come together: Clive Bunker, Jerry Donahue, Ray Jackson, Doug Morter, Rick Kemp and Kristina Donahue.
