Gerry Conway (musician)
Gerry Conway (* 11. September 1947 in King's Lynn , Norfolk ) is an English folk - drummer .
In 1964, Conway began working with Alexis Korner . A year later he joined the band Eclection ; it was followed by the folk rock band Fotheringay . In 1970 he worked on Steeleye Span's debut album as a drummer. Until 1975 he played in the backing band of Cat Stevens . In the early 1980s, Conway became a member of Jethro Tull , of which he was a permanent member until 1982. However, he continued to play with the band on occasion. In 1990 he continued his career by joining Pentangle . Together with Jacqui McShee and Spencer Cozens , he founded a folk rock trio in 1994 , from which Jacqui McShee's Pentangle emerged. In 1998 he became the drummer at Fairport Convention .
