Collin Bowman (born June 13, 1991 in Grand Rapids , Michigan ) is an American ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Colorado Eagles from the ECHL since September 2017 .

Career

Bowman was born in Grand Rapids , Michigan and raised in Littleton , Colorado , where his family moved in the early 1990s for professional reasons. His older brother Drayson is also a professional ice hockey player who has played in the National Hockey League for the Carolina Hurricanes and the Montreal Canadiens .

In 2003 the family moved to Bowman again to the two sons in Vancouver ( Canada offer) better opportunities for ice hockey matches.

As a junior player

Bowman began his career in 2006 when he signed with the WHL team Kelowna Rockets . After four seasons, he moved to the Moose Jaw Warriors , but was transferred to the Calgary Hitmen in late 2011 . When the Bowmans returned to Colorado in 2012, he played one season for the Colorado Eagles in the East Coast Hockey League . In the 2013-14 season he ran for the San Francisco Bulls and Bakersfield Condors before returning to the Colorado Eagles.

As a professional player

Bowman was tested by the Ottawa Senators at the 2009 Rookie Tournament and was signed to the New York Rangers in 2011 , but never played in the NHL.

In the 2014-15 season he played for the Iowa Wild and the Colorado Eagles. In the 2015/16 season he played for the Rochester Americans , as well as for the Eagles, the first three games of the season together with his brother Drayson before he moved to the DEL for the Düsseldorfer EG . A year later, Bowman followed his brother to Europe when he signed a contract with Vienna Capitals . With the team he became Austrian champion at the end of the 2016/17 season . He then returned to the Colorado Eagles, with whom he won the 2018 ECHL playoffs for the Kelly Cup .
