The municipality Comarapa is a district in the Santa Cruz department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The Municipio Comarapa is one of two counties ( Bolivian : Municipios ) in the province of Manuel María Caballero . It is bordered to the north and northwest by the department of Cochabamba , to the southwest by the municipality of Saipina , to the south by the province of Vallegrande , to the east by the province of Florida , and to the northeast by the province of Ichilo .

The municipality is between 17 ° 27 'and 18 ° 13' south latitude and 64 ° 06 'and 64 ° 49' west longitude, it extends about 80 kilometers in north-south and 50 kilometers in east-west direction. Central location of Municipalities is the city Comarapa with 5,315 inhabitants ( Census 2001 ) on the western edge of Municipalities.

The Municipio Comarapa is located on the south-eastern edge of the Cordillera Oriental , which forms the transition from the Bolivian lowlands to the high mountain ranges of the Andes. The climate is mild-temperate and a typical daytime climate , in which the temperature differences between day and night are more pronounced than between the seasons.
