Commissario Laurenti - Totentanz is a German crime film by Ulrich Zrenner from 2009 . It is the fifth and last case for Commissario Proteo Laurenti ( Henry Hübchen ). The film title Dance of Death refers to the fresco of the same name .
In his last case, Commissario Laurenti has to deal with Drakic, whom he knows, who has put a bounty on him. Laurenti investigates on her own and gets into great trouble.
action
Commissario Laurenti is traveling on a country road and is harassed by a dark pickup . He made an appointment with the Croatian public prosecutor Ziva Ravno. She informs him that the Croatian mafia boss Viktor Drakic has set his killers on him. Since Laurenti always has to deal with criminal elements, he does not worry and he sees no reason to take any special precautions.
The next day, the dark pickup deliberately pushes a small car off the road, killing both occupants. Laurenti has the car written out for a search. Those killed are the caretaker couple who were employed in the Trieste Science Park, where Laurenti's daughter is doing an internship.
Laurenti soon faces another murder case. The young journalist Alba Guerra was killed. The inspector hopes to gain knowledge from her camera's memory card, but also has all fingerprints evaluated. So he finds out that the sister of his archenemy, Viktor Drakic, went into hiding in the consulate under a false name. Laurenti does not notice that he has Tatjana Drakic in front of him, as she had undergone facial surgery since his last meeting and is now posing as a consul from Numenistan. So she can continue her brother's business in Trieste unhindered. Journalist Alba Guerra was known as a sensational reporter and, according to Laurenti's research, she worked on a revelatory story about industrial espionage in the Science Park. The photos from her camera show that the caretaker who was killed had spied on secret data for Tatjana Drakic. It is therefore certain that he and his wife were removed as unwanted confidants on behalf of the Drakics. When the Drakics realize that the inspector is gradually threatening them, they go on the offensive. First they have their killer Laurentis daughter ambushed and only with a lot of luck can she escape the two men. The fingerprints can be used to identify the two and arrest them. While Laurenti is interrogating one of the men, he is shot through the window by a sniper Drakic's. The inspector is hit by a bullet, which is immediately used to fake his death in order to protect him from further attacks.
Laurenti's secretary Marietta finds out that the consul is Tatjana Drakic. Since she is protected from the Italian judiciary by her diplomatic immunity, she kidnaps the woman and hides her in her apartment. She tells her colleague Antonio about her plan to lure Viktor Drakic out of his hiding place in this way. It succeeds, but the Drakic siblings are killed after an exchange of fire.
