The Competence Center ISOBUS e. V. (CCI) is a registered association for the promotion of technical further development, the accelerated introduction into practice and the international implementation of ISOBUS , a data transmission system for agricultural engineering .

The association, which was founded in 2009, is based in the Osnabrück Innovation Center in the Lower Saxony city of Osnabrück in Germany. The CCI has 21 agricultural engineering companies from Germany, France, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Austria and the Czech Republic as members and is financed through its income for services, membership fees and public grants.

history

At the beginning of 2008, the cooperation between the implement manufacturers Amazone , Grimme , Krone , Kuhn , Lemken and Rauch in the field of ISOBUS began. On February 12th, 2009 these six companies founded the association Competence Center ISOBUS e. V. (CCI). The entry in the register of associations took place on March 18, 2009.

A few months later, in July 2009, the CCI presented the jointly developed ISOBUS terminal CCI 100 or CCI 200 . In November 2009 the concept of a manufacturer-independent operating philosophy for ISOBUS agricultural machinery was awarded a gold medal by the DLG Innovation Commission at Agritechnica .

The aim of the association's activities is to significantly advance ISOBUS technology by ensuring cross-manufacturer compatibility and focusing on usability. The CCI tasks are specified by the members and can be summarized as follows:

  • Implementation of joint development activities in the ISOBUS area
  • Provision of solutions in line with the market for the benefit of the customer
  • Operation of a test center for ISOBUS-compatible hardware and software
  • Participation in the ISO standardization committees and in the project teams of the Agricultural Industry Electronics Foundation (AEF)
  • Training for employees from the areas of sales, service and development
  • Participation in research and university projects

The CCI offers its members the following products and services, among others:

  • CCI ISOBUS terminals in the equipment variants CCI 100 and CCI 200
  • ISOBUS driver software
  • Training
  • ISOBUS compatibility tests

Members

The association consists of agricultural engineering companies. A distinction is made between the ordinary members (the six founding members), who finance the association's activities, and the extraordinary members, who participate in the activities and / or can use its services.

Companies in agricultural engineering or related areas, for example from the supplier industry, can become members. Furthermore, universities, research institutions and other associations or their members who deal with topics promoting the purpose of the association can join the association.

Project participation

From 2009 to 2013 the association was represented as a project partner in the publicly funded iGreen project . The aim of this was to create an open data communication structure for agriculture . A total of 24 project partners from the fields of IT, agricultural engineering, research and the public sector worked together to achieve this goal. The CCI supervised plant cultivation working groups and various field tests in order to ensure the practicality of the project activities and to support a strong connection to the users (farmers and contractors).
