Conor O'Sullivan is a makeup artist and special effects artist .

Life

O'Sullivan started his career in film crew in 1995 as undisclosed uncredited makeup artist for prostheses in Mel Gibson's Braveheart . 1999 he worked for Steven Spielberg's war movie Saving Private Ryan , along with Lois Burwell and Daniel C. Striepeke for the Oscar in the category Best Makeup and Best hairstyles nominated, but won this year's period drama Elizabeth . In 2003 he was nominated for Stephen Daldry's drama The Hours for the BAFTA Film Award in the Best Mask category, and here too he went empty-handed. In 2009 he received a second Oscar nomination for the superhero film The Dark Knight by Christopher Nolan , together with John Caglione Jr. he was defeated in the fantasy film The Strange Case of Benjamin Button .

O'Sullivan has worked under other renowned directors such as Werner Herzog , Brett Ratner , Mike Nichols and Ridley Scott . For Scott he worked on Prometheus - Dark Signs , Exodus: Gods and Kings and Alien: Covenant, among others . In addition to his film engagements, O'Sullivan also worked for television. For his work on the series Game of Thrones , for which he worked on 30 episodes between 2011 and 2013, he was nominated in all three years for the Primetime Emmy , which he could not win.
