Constantin Starck
Constantin Starck , also Konstantin Starck , (February 18 July / March 2, 1866 greg. In Riga ; † September 11, 1939 in Berlin or August 22, 1939 ; full name Karl Constantin Starck ) was a Baltic German sculptor and medalist .
Life
Starck studied from 1885 to 1887 at the Stuttgart Art Academy (with Nikolai von Grünewaldt and Karl Donndorf ) and 1887-1891 at the Berlin Academy of Art (at Albert Wolff , Fritz Schaper and Ernst Herter ), where he then until 1898 master student at Reinhold Begas was .
At the Great Berlin Art Exhibition in 1904, Starck was awarded a small gold medal. In 1908 he was appointed a member of the Prussian Academy of the Arts , from 1923 he was senator of the academy. Until 1910 he taught at the teaching institute of the Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin .
The painter Johannes Starck (* 1862) was his brother, the painter and textile designer Helene Starck (* 1902) was his daughter.
Starck died in Berlin in 1939 at the age of 73 and was buried in Cemetery II of the Sophiengemeinde Berlin in Berlin-Mitte.

- 1912: Children's fountain on Barbarossaplatz in Berlin-Schöneberg (destroyed in World War II, rebuilt in 1989 by the sculptor Heinz Spilker )
- 1926–1927: Fountain figure at the Barbarossa fountain in Berlin-Reinickendorf, Olwenplatz
- 1928: Flute player and Daphne ( girl with oleander branch ) in the Botanical Garden in Berlin-Dahlem
- Flute player in the Joachimsthalschen Gymnasium in Berlin-Wilmersdorf
- 1930: Tennis player in Hanover (gift from the Fritz Behrens Foundation to the city of Hanover, set up in 1935 on the premises of the German Tennis Club Hanover )
- 1935: Golfer in Hanover ( financed by the Fritz Behrens Foundation and installed in the city park in 1959 )
