The Evangelical-Lutheran, listed Cosmas-and-Damian Church named after Kosmas and Damian is located in Wenigenlupnitz , a district of the Thuringian community of Hörselberg-Hainich in the Wartburg district . The community town of Wenigenlupnitz the parish Melborn belongs to the parish area Melborn I in the church district Eisenach-Gerstungen the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The church was first mentioned in 1352. The current hall church dates from 1517, the nave from 1796. The church tower, which is offset slightly to the north, consists largely of stone. Its slate-covered upper floor has oval sound arcades . It is covered with a stump of a pyramid roof on which an open lantern with a tower ball sits. The sacristy is attached to the tower .

The interior has two-story galleries on the long sides of the nave . In the lower galleries on either side of the choir are projecting through fluted Tuscan pilasters articulated patronage lodges . A single-storey gallery with a balcony-like pulpit is located above four arcades in the east . On the gallery in the west is the organ with 21 stops , which are divided into two manuals and pedal . It was built in 1809 by Johann-Markus Oestreich .
