Altenhimmel is a district of the municipality of Glashütten in the Bayreuth district in Upper Franconia ( Bavaria ).

geography

The desert is in an elevated position on the northern foothills of Franconian Switzerland in the middle of the Gubitzmooswald. One of the sources of the Krebsbach rises there. A service road leads to Körzendorf (2 km southwest) or to a communal road near Gubitzmoos (1.5 km north).

history

With the community edict (early 19th century) Altenhimmel was assigned to the tax district Pettendorf and the rural community Creez . After 1885, but before 1900, Altenhimmel was transferred to Glashütten.
