Until the end of the Old Empire , residential property was in the Fraisch district of the Bamberg office of Waischenfeld .

From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office of Bayreuth . With the Gemeindeedikt (early 19th century) which was Rural Municipality Wohnsgehaig formed, including the regions of Outer digging and Schöchleins belonged. It was under the administration and jurisdiction of the Hollfeld district court and had an area of 3.636 km².
