Lenz is a part of the municipality of Mistelgau in the Bayreuth district in Upper Franconia ( Bavaria ).

geography

South of the hamlet borders the Glashüttener Forest, which with its elevations belongs to northern Franconian Switzerland . In the north and east, the place is surrounded by arable land and grassland in the Hummelgau landscape. A communal road leads to Schobertsreuth (0.5 km north) or Voitsreuth past Gubitzmoos (0.9 km south-east).

history

From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office of Bayreuth . With the community edict (early 19th century) Lenz was assigned to the tax district Pettendorf and the rural community Creez . On April 1, 1971, Lenz was incorporated into the municipality of Mistelgau as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
