history

The von Lüschwitz family originally had a knight's seat here. When it died out in 1728, the fiefdom fell to the Margraviate of Brandenburg-Kulmbach .

With the community edict in the 19th century, Frankenhaag became a rural community to which the towns of Hardt , Klingenmühle , Ochsenholz , Sorg , Streit and Süssetränk belonged. It was under the administration and jurisdiction of the Bayreuth Regional Court and had an area of 3.532 km². On January 1, 1972, this was incorporated into the municipality of Mistelgau as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .

From 1812 to 1971 the place had its own school. From 1904 to 1974 Frankenhaag was accessible via the Bayreuth – Hollfeld railway line .
