history
The von Truppach family was recorded as "de Trubaha" as early as 1059, which implies the existence of the place "Trubaha". This makes Truppach one of the oldest places in the Bayreuth area. The meaning of the place name is interpreted as a settlement on the murky brook or settlement on the brook of the Trubert. In the Landbuch des Amt Bayreuth from 1499 two aristocratic residences are mentioned for the place: one belonged to the von Aufseß family , the other, verifiably , belonged to the von Truppach family since 1380. The latter was given up a little later and Klaus von Truppach moved to Alladorf .
With the municipal edict, the Truppach tax district was formed in 1811 , to which the towns of Ausserleithen , Bärnreuth , Braunersberg , Friedrichsruh , Gries , Mengersdorf , Muschelhof , Obernsees , Pensenleithen and Schnackenwöhr belonged. At the same time, the Truppach rural community was formed with Muschelhof and Schnackenwöhr . The municipality was under the administration and jurisdiction of the Bayreuth Regional Court and had an area of 2.564 km². On January 1, 1969, the community Mengersdorf joined with the districts of Ausserleithen, Bärnreuth and Pensenleithen. On January 1, 1972, the municipality of Truppach was incorporated into the municipality of Mistelgau as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
