Outer Graben (colloquial: oisa grōm or aisere grōm ) is a district of the municipality of Mistelgau in the district of Bayreuth in Upper Franconia .

geography

The wasteland lies at the foot of the Neubürg ( 586  m above sea level , 0.7 km southeast). In the northwest a branch of a deeply cut ditch reaches there, the source of which has dried up. A communal road leads past Ausserleithen to Mengersdorf (1.8 km northwest) and Wohnsgehaig (0.3 km south).

history

In 1799 a meadow was mentioned “in the outer ditch”, in 1801 a wasteland called “Auessere ditch” was mentioned for the first time in an address book. If the field name only came up at this time, it corresponds to its current meaning. He would therefore refer to an area on the border. In fact, the boundary between Mengersdorf and Wohnsgehaig ran there . If the field name is older, a derivation from "īsen" ( mhd. For iron) could also be considered. Then the field name would refer to a place where iron ore was dug.

From 1801 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office of Bayreuth . With the Gemeindeedikt (early 19th century) Outer moat was Rural Municipality Wohnsgehaig assigned. On July 1, 1972, this was incorporated into the municipality of Mistelgau as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
