Crazy Competition (dt. Madman competition) is a German television show of the TV channel ProSieben .

concept

In each episode, two "hostile" neighboring villages, in three disciplines or also called competition, compete against each other. To better distinguish the two villages visually, the colors red and blue are assigned to them. The villages are supported by the celebrities Jumbo Schreiner (red) and Sonya Kraus ( represented by Johanna Klum in episode 5 ) (blue), who are each assigned to a village as sponsors. The disciplines are divided into different categories which are called Crazy Cooking , Fun and Action . In the Crazy Cooking category , the villages have to prepare various meals in XXL format. The Action category requires preliminary technical work and the greatest amount of effort, as different objects have to be converted for these games. For winning the first "competition" there is 1 point for the second 2 points and for the third decisive match there are 3 points. Which village has the most points in the end receives 10,000 euros. The loser village has to set up the “stone of shame” for one year at a position in the village that is determined by the winner village.

Odds

Due to good ratings after the first two episodes, the Munich private broadcaster ProSieben has commissioned new episodes. In the third show, however, the odds fell sharply. The fourth show could not follow up on the first two shows, but had better ratings than the third show.

Course of individual episodes

Episode 1: Glees versus Wassenach

In the pilot episode of Crazy Competition, which was broadcast on July 1, 2010, the hostile villages of Glees and Wassenach competed in the Crazy Competition. Sonya Kraus was Glees' godmother and Jumbo Schreiner was Wassenach's godfather.

The competition started with the fun category , in which three men, each from a village, had to run one behind the other through a course with a woman on their backs . The women carried a baton with them, which had to be passed on to the next couple at the end of a round. If the women lost their staff while conquering the course or if they even fell off the man carrying it, there were 4 penalty seconds. Glees won this match with 4 minutes and 51 seconds because Wassenach lost the woman once in the first and third round. Glees thus led 1-0.

In the second Crazy Cooking match , the villages had to build an XXL gingerbread house. Wassenach won with the larger and more steadfast one, as the Glees gingerbread house dissolved into its individual parts due to the humidity that had entered overnight . It was 2: 1 for Wassenach.

In the third match there was a soap box race with garbage cans between the villages. In the first two runs, the garbage cans (80 liters and 240 liters capacity) could only be changed minimally. In the third run, in the premier class, the garbage cans could be converted as desired. Glees won the 80-liter class and Wassenach won the 240-liter class. The decision should therefore be made in the premier class. However, there was an early start and an accident in which both garbage can vehicles were so badly damaged that it was impossible to repeat the race. It was therefore agreed to hold the final race with the 80 liter garbage cans. Glees won again and thus got the last points that it needed to win 4-2.

Episode 2: Wiggensbach against Buchenberg

In the second episode, which was broadcast on July 8, 2010, the villages of Wiggensbach and Buchenberg competed . Wiggensbach was accompanied by Sonya Kraus and Buchenberg was accompanied by Jumbo Schreiner.

The first match in the Crazy Coocking category was: Weißwurst XXL . Which team has the heaviest white sausage , which also has the same shape and still has to taste like white sausage, wins. Buchenberg got the first point.

In the second match in the Fun category , 30 people from each village had a drinking competition. Those who had to go to the toilet dropped out. Wiggensbach won this time. Thus Wiggensbach led.

In the third match action , cars had to be converted so that they could fly the farthest from a ramp with a compressed air catapult. Originally, each village only had one chance. However, Wiggensbach's car suffered an unintentional early start when a misfire triggered the solid fuel rocket attached to the car. They got a second chance and finally won with 40 meters difference. Wiggensbach won with a score of 5: 1 .

Episode 3: Heiden against Marbeck

In the third episode, which was broadcast on July 15, 2010, the villages of Heiden and Marbeck competed . Jumbo Schreiner was Marbeck's godfather and Sonya Kraus was Heiden's godmother.

In the Fun category , the villages had to build huge paper boats to take people from one end of a swimming pool to the other. Which village was able to transport the most people wins. Heiden managed 6 people, Marbeck only 2. Thus the Heidener were in the lead with one point.

In the Crazy Cooking category , the villages had to bake a huge pizza. The largest and also edible pizza should win. Marbeck's pizza was 7 cm larger than the pizza from Heiden and was also edible. So the new score was 2: 1 for Marbeck.

In the third match action , the villages had to compete against each other in tandems of seven. Whoever reaches the goal faster has won. Here Marbeck won and decided the Crazy Competition with 5: 1.

Episode 4: Wattenbek versus Bruges

In the fourth episode, which was broadcast on July 22, 2010, the northern German villages Wattenbek and Bruges competed . Schreiner was Wattenbek's godfather and Sonya Kraus was the godmother of Bruges.

In the first category, Crazy Coocking , the village received a point for frying the heaviest, edible schnitzel. Wattenbeks Schnitzel weighed 58 kg, Bruges Schnitzel only 22.8 kg. Since both schnitzel were edible, the first point went to Wattenbek.

The village received 2 points, which in the Fun category was able to bring its sailing car through the finish line faster than the other village. Bruges won.

In the decisive third action category , the winning village received three points. One villager at a time jumped from a scaffold on a water catapult. Whoever was thrown farthest from there received the all-important three points. Wattenbek won the category and thus also the Crazy Competition with a total of 4: 2.

Episode 5: Reifferscheid against Antweiler

In the fifth episode, which was broadcast on July 29, 2010, the villages of Reifferscheid and Antweiler competed . Since Sonya Kraus was unable to record, she was represented once by the presenter Johanna Klum in this episode . Klum was Reifferscheid's godmother. Jumbo Schreiner was the sponsor for Antweiler.

In the first category, Crazy Cooking , the village should win a point, which can make the longest pancake roll with jam. The pancake roll from Antweiler was 80 cm longer than the one from Reifferscheid, but it was not edible. So Reifferscheid won the first point despite the shorter role.

In the second category, fun , the two villages dueled in the cheese race . The goal was to chase after and catch a cheese that was rolling down a steep mountain. There were five runs, with 5 runners starting each time for a village. Races 1, 3 and 5 were carried out by male runners only and races 2 and 4 by women only. In the first run, a man from Antweiler had the cheese in his hands first. In the second run, a Reifferscheider was ahead. In the third attempt with Reifferscheid had made the point again. In the fourth run, Antweiler caught the cheese first. In the all-important fifth run, an Antweiler citizen was able to catch the cheese. Thus Antweiler won this game with 3: 2 and thus also 2 points for the overall ranking. So it is 1: 2 for Antweiler.

In the third category, action , there were three decisive points. Instead motors extinguishers were several companions mounted. There are three racing classes in this race. The village with the fastest time, regardless of the racing class, wins. In the first class fire chair race , Antweiler crossed the finish line with a clear lead. In the bathtub race , Antweiler crossed the finish line first for the second time. Reifferscheid won the premier class and undercut the best time set by Antweiler in the first two races. So Reifferscheid won the third competition and thus the entire competition with 4: 2.

Episode 6: Wingst against Oberndorf

In the sixth episode, which was broadcast on August 5, 2010, the villages of Wingst and Oberndorf competed . Wingst's godfather was Jumbo carpenter and Oberndorf's godmother was Sonya Kraus, who has returned from her vacation.

In the first category, Crazy Cooking , the villages had to bake an edible potato pancake as large as possible. Oberndorf won this game because the wingst buffer was bigger but not edible. So after the first match it was 1-0 for Oberndorf.

In the Fun category , the villages competed in 8th rowing. The task was to pull a water skier over a distance of 200 meters with a rowing boat manned by 8 men (plus helmsman). At the beginning of the race, the team from Oberndorf immediately took the lead and continuously expanded this lead. However, the water skier of the Oberndorf boat lost a ski about 2 boat lengths before the finish. The boat had to stop to pick up the lost ski, as the rules stipulated that all equipment must arrive at the destination with the water skier. The otherwise much slower boat from Wingst used this circumstance to cross the finish line first. Wingst thus led 2-1.

In the last and decisive action category , the villages had to play straw bale jenga . A tower made of straw balls was built and the villages had to alternately pull a straw ball out of the tower and put it back on top using a telescopic handler. For each move they had 5 minutes and the tower had to stand for 30 seconds after hanging up. In order to decide who could start, straws were drawn, with Sonya Kraus drawing the short straw . Since she was Oberndorf's godmother, Wingst was allowed to begin. Both teams were able to remove and place a bale properly without any problems. At the second attempt of the Wingster team, however, the tower tipped over, which Oberndorf secured the victory of this game and the entire competition with 4: 2.

Episode 7: Sankt Englmar against Kollnburg

In the seventh and final episode of the first season, which was broadcast on August 12, 2010, the villages of Sankt Englmar and Kollnburg competed . Sankt Englmar received support from Jumbo Schreiner, and Kollnburg from Sonya Kraus.

The competition began in the Crazy Cooking category with the preparation of a bread dumpling as heavy as possible. Unlike in the previous broadcasts, the two villages did not have to play a game with a time limit, but the dumplings were made at home and only had to be presented at a certain time. The heaviest, edible dumpling that has an intact dumpling shape should get the first point in the respective village. However, both dumplings broke apart, meaning that no village met the conditions and no point could be awarded. Therefore it was 0-0 after the first game.

The task of the game in the Fun category was to bring as many people as possible across a lake in 10 minutes using a raft made of PET bottles. This game was decided by Kollnburg for themselves, so the current score was 2-0 for Kollnburg.

The game in the Action category was Moped Hill Climbing. The mopeds (max. 50 cm 3 displacement) had to drive up a steep mountain in 3 different categories. The aim was to achieve the fastest total time over all 3 races. In the first round of the classic , the mopeds could hardly be changed. Sankt Englmar won this race with a margin of 3.6 seconds. Second came the premier class , in which the mopeds could be converted almost at will. This time the driver from Kollnburg won. However, Sankt Englmar remained in the lead, as the gap between the two drivers was only 1.2 seconds. The decision was made in the last race, Romance . Here a moped had to be equipped with a sidecar so that a man and a woman could ride along. The team from Kollnburg won the last race by a large margin and thus also the entire game. Kollnburg won the competition 5-0.

In this edition of Crazy Competition, it was the first time that no point could be awarded in a game. It was also the first time that a village could not win a single one of the three games.

Reviews

“[...] The three-hundredweight eating machine Schreiner and the steel barbie Kraus in close contact with normal people, that seems bizarre. [...] Last year the self-rescue attempt was called " Summer Girl", [...] Compared to the summer soils 135 minutes of "Crazy Competition", the young women rubbed in butter and oil at the waterslide race actually appear in retrospect as exciting sports television. "

“What's really crazy about Crazy Competition? How brazenly the station sells such a junk program as a TV highlight. How undeterred people like Jumbo Schreiner and Sonya Kraus show their flat-headed culture on television. "
