Curt Grützmacher

Curt Grützmacher (born June 6, 1928 in Staßfurt ; † July 27, 2010 in Vaihingen an der Enz ) was a German art historian .

Life

Curt Grützmacher studied German, art history, philosophy, psychology and musicology at the Philosophical-Theological University of Regensburg and at the University of Munich . From 1957 he worked for Ernesto Grassi in the editorial team of Rowohlt's German encyclopedias and the magazine Kunst und Kirche . He received his doctorate in 1964 at the University of Munich under Grassi on Novalis and Philipp Otto Runge . From 1965 to 1993 he was a professor at the Berlin University of the Arts in Faculty 1 (Fine Arts) and taught literature and art history. Curt Grützmacher has published numerous publications on modern and romantic art , mannerism and the connection between art and schizophrenia .
