Dölitz-Dosen and its neighbors

Dölitz-Dösen is a district of Leipzig in the southern district. In the numbering of the districts it bears the number 44. It essentially comprises the districts of Dölitz and Dosen . It was created in 1992 as part of the administrative division of the city into districts with approximately the same number of inhabitants.

location

Dölitz-Dosen lies on the southern edge of Leipzig. Its northern neighbors are Connewitz , Lößnig and Probstheida . In the east it borders on Meusdorf and in the south and west on the large district town of Markkleeberg , with the Pleiße forming the border in the west .

At Markkleeberg, the district boundary coincides with the district boundary and also with the city boundary. In the north there are small deviations between the borough and suburb boundaries of Lößnig in the area of ​​the Lößnig-Dölitz recreation park . In the east, the area of ​​the Leine settlement, the former park hospital grounds and the correctional facility on Dösener Flur fell to the Meusdorf district. In the northwest, parts of the Connewitzer and Loessniger Flur have come to Dölitz-Dosen.

The main traffic artery in Dölitz-Dösen is the Bornaische Strasse, which runs in north-south direction and was formerly part of the Via Regia . In the east-west direction, the Leinestrasse is of supra-local importance as is the Goethesteig with the driveway to Bundesstrasse 2 .

Dölitz-Dosen is a residential area in which houses with a village character can be found in the two old town centers, and in Dölitz there were founding houses .
