Dörfl is a scattered settlement in western Styria in the municipality of Hirschegg-Pack in the Voitsberg district , Styria .

Place name

The place name is derived from Middle High German dörflîn, the diminutive of the Middle High German term dorf for rural settlement or village . So it means something like small village .

Dörfl is located in the northern part of the Hirschegg-Pack municipality, northwest of the village of Hirschegg , in the eastern part of the Hirschegg-Rein cadastral municipality, on a hill between the Teigitsch in the east and the Mittereggbach in the southwest.

history

Dörfl emerged as a small hamlet in the high medieval clearing area and consisted largely of individual farms and wastelands. The place was first mentioned in a document as Dörfl in 1923 in the register of places.

The residents of Dörfl belonged to the manor of Hirschegg until 1848. By February 12, 1961, the place was electrified .
