Hirschegg is a former municipality and village with 607 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in Styria in the judicial district or district of Voitsberg . As part of the municipal structural reform in Styria, Hirschegg has been merged with the municipality of Pack since 2015 ; the new municipality is called Hirschegg-Pack . The basis for this is the Styrian Municipal Structural Reform Act - StGsrG.

The mountain village of Hirschegg is located in western Styria approx. 14 km west of the district capital Voitsberg . The mountains and alpine pastures all around rise up to 1999 meters. The Packalpe to the west forms the border to the Carinthian Lavanttal , the Stubalpe to the north to the Murtal in Upper Styria .

politics

Gottfried Preßler from the ÖVP was mayor until the end of 2014 . The municipal council consisted of nine members and, since the municipal council election in 2010, has consisted of mandates from the following parties:

  • 7 ÖVP - appointed mayor and deputy mayor
  • 2 SPÖ
